Code of Conducts

These code of conduct and professional standards are to be observed by holders of certification documents presented by the Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner.
In the course of their professional activities, practitioners shall preserve and advance the integrity, prestige, reputation and honour of the profession by following these standards:

ACT in a manner that demonstrates exemplary professional conduct. Conduct professional relations by the highest standards of integrity and avoid compromise of their professional judgment by conflicts of interest.

CONFIDENTIALITY – Preserve the confidentiality and privacy of the employees, employer and customers. Except when necessary permissions are obtained, restrict the unauthorized access to confidential information.

PROFESSIONALISM – Conduct yourself in exemplary professional manner, exhibiting the highest standards of integrity in your professional relationships and avoiding compromising reputation by conflicts of interest.

FAIRNESS – Be objective and fair in dealing with all stakeholders such as employers, customers, employees, the public, government agencies and make every attempt to disclose conflicts of interest. Treat others in a manner similar to how you would like to be treated.

COMPETENCE – Accept the responsibility to maintain the knowledge and skill set necessary to provide professional services competently through continuing education, experience and professional training.

INDEPENDENCE – Recognize, asses and protect yourself against threats to your professional independence. In all circumstance, exercise judgment, objectivity and act with integrity.  Disclose the unavoidable conflicts of interest and take every precaution to avoid conflicts of interest, perceived or real.

FAITHFULLNESS – Conduct yourself faithfully in relation all stakeholders such as customers, employers, employees and colleagues and honour all your obligations to serve them. Do not accept inappropriate gifts from third parties, directly or indirectly, in relation to the work responsibilities.

HONESTY – Conduct professional responsibilities with fairness, honesty, impartiality and integrity. Exhibit and act ethically to balance and care for the legitimate interests of all stakeholders such as customers, employer, employees, colleagues and the profession. Avoid conducts that would tarnish the reputation of the profession and mislead the public.

RESPONSIBILITY – While performing professional duties, act in a manner that protects safety and wellbeing of people; preserves the environment and the property. Fulfil all your responsibilities to your stakeholders without burdening the general population, the environment and the property.
